Kwame Hermenegildo Mel� holds a Bachelor's degree in Medicine from the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) and a Master's degree in Evidence and Decision in Health, with a specialization in Clinical Research, from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. He also holds a postgraduate qualification in Health Data Science from the Polytechnic University of Coimbra and has completed several continuing professional development courses (non-degree training programs). In addition, he has participated in several research studies conducted by the Bandim Health Project (Guinea-Bissau), focusing on malaria and tuberculosis. More recently, he was awarded a doctoral scholarship under the Doctoral Programme in Medicine at the University of Minho School of Medicine for the 2026�2027 academic year. The scholarship will be funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
