Promote and conduct health research to generate knowledge and advocate for the adoption of evidence-based policies.
The Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) is a non-profit, which aims to promote transformative and structuring actions in the field of global health and human development. We work to improve global health, promote gender equality, expand knowledge production and stimulate development in Guinea Bissau and beyond.
On 8th December 2021, IGHD marked its inception with a momentous launch event. The launch catalyzed inspiring change and fostered collaboration towards achieving equitable and sustainable global health and development outcomes.
IGHD connects, collaborates and co-creates to foster science and data-driven policies, and intelligence gathering to galvanize public debate and influence health, social and economic development-oriented solutions. By working with a diverse range of partners, including local communities, governments, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders, IGHD leverages unique strengths and expertise to achieve sustainable development outcomes.
We envision a society where wellbeing is a universal right and not a privilege, and where social justice and equity are at the forefront. We aim to catalyse transformational change through quality research, analysis, advocacy and policy recommendations, to achieve equitable access to quality health care, gender equality and economic opportunities for all.
